Half of the homes in Tribeca are condominiums. City Planning's tax lot data counts 12,249 homes in 622 residential buildings across Tribeca and the Civic Center, with another 43 percent in elevator buildings, rental and co-op, which leaves few walk-ups. The stock runs from old to new. Buildings put up before 1940 hold 46 percent of homes, a group that takes in warehouses and factory buildings converted into lofts, and buildings from 2000 or later hold 28 percent. The typical home is in a building of 15 floors, and towers of 20 floors and up hold close to two in five homes.
